Spermatogenesis starts at puberty by the release of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) from hypothalamus.
acts on anterior pituitary to release gonadotropins, called luteinising hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating (FSH).
acts on the interstitial cells (Leydig cells) of the seminiferous tubules to synthesises and secrete androgens (testosterone) which stimulates spermatogenesis.
FSH acts on sertoli cells to secrete androgen binding protein and inhibin.
